Hello:

My name is Arthur Johnson and I am a student at Cal State University, Fullerton. My blog aims to share my perspective on sociological issues related to families. I am currently majoring in Finance and was required to take a Sociology class to fulfill a major requirement. However, since starting I have gained more interest in the subject and I'm excited to learn more in the future. Because of this, I hope that my blog shares a unique perspective on Sociology issues that the typical Sociology student may not address. 

Some things about me:

Family is extremely important to me and has shaped me who I am today. My mothers a first generation American who's parents came from Finland in the 50's. My fathers side has deeper roots in here in the US and it has been interesting comparing and contrasting family dynamics on either side growing up. The major differences in these two cultures have been made more apparent as I have aged, and have very clear differences in gender norms and family structures. I come from a typical Orange County upbringing, but was faced with different obstacles along the way that has made my story different than most.
